1. Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Temporary Metrology Specialist to support a time-bound project at a regulated manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a master instrument list, executing and documenting calibration activities, and ensuring all instrumentation supporting critical utilities and building systems complies with cGMP and applicable industry standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining quality compliance and supporting project timelines.
2. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the facility Master Instrument List, including calibration parameters for systems such as:
    • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
    • Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS)
    • Process Control Systems (PCS) / Temperature Control Units (TCUs)
    • Compressed Air, WFI, Water Systems
    • HVAC, Utility Panels, Autoclaves, Parts Washers, and other utilities
  • Schedule and coordinate calibration activities and third-party vendor services in collaboration with Engineering, Facilities, EHS, system owners, and project stakeholders.
  • Review calibration certificates and service documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Enter and maintain calibration data within a computerized calibration management system (e.g., SAP or equivalent CMMS).
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready instrument history files.
  • Complete all required GMP, safety, and procedural training.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on metrology deliverables and status.
  • Support metrology inventory and lab organization, including calibration parts and equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support project success.
3. Qualifications & Experience
Education
  • Associate degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.

Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in instrument calibration and metrology within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other FDA-regulated (cGMP) environments.
  • Experience calibrating instruments for pressure, temperature, level, flow, and pH/conductivity.
  • Preferred experience with utility and process systems such as WFI, HVAC, compressed air, autoclaves, TCUs, and environmental monitoring systems.

Systems & Compliance Knowledge
  • Strong working knowledge of cGMP, GDP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and applicable industry standards (ISPE GAMP, ISO, USP, ASTM).
  • Experience with computerized calibration management systems (SAP PM, ProCal, Blue Mountain RAM, or equivalent) preferred.
4. Key Competencies
