Summary:
The Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will play a critical role in supporting enterprise-level AI and data-driven initiatives. This role requires strong technical expertise in data querying, analysis, and a foundational understanding of AI concepts. The BSA will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document business requirements, validate data sources, and support the design and implementation of intelligent solutions.
Candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and data visualization tools, and be comfortable working with APIs and modern data platforms. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution, ensuring solutions are aligned with strategic goals and data integrity standards.
Successful candidates must have a deep and broad background in application development and delivery from initial business case through deployment to operations and support. Prior experience writing system requirements, workflow documentation, project plans, and test cases is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Querying & Validation. Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze data from enterprise systems. Use tools like Postman to test and validate RESTful APIs and data integrations.
Data Analysis & Visualization. Perform data profiling and analysis using Python (Pandas, NumPy), Excel, and Power BI. Identify data quality issues and support remediation efforts.
AI & Machine Learning Awareness. Understand core AI/ML concepts such as supervised learning, feature engineering, and model evaluation. Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to ensure business requirements align with model capabilities.
Requirements Gathering & Documentation. Facilitate stakeholder meetings to elicit business needs and translate them into detailed user stories and functional specifications. Document workflows, use cases, and test scripts to support development and QA teams.
System Integration & Technical Collaboration. Support integration of AI solutions with existing enterprise systems. Work closely with developers, architects, and QA teams to ensure technical feasibility and solution quality.
Participate in division level planning activities as directed by management. This includes continually identifying and supporting opportunities to improve systems and business processes, project management/applications development methodology and product reviews or pilot.
Perform problem solving function in a team environment across business functional areas. Responsibilities will involve family of interrelated functional areas across business divisions.
Responsible for ensuring the appropriate change management is implemented such as business training is provided to ensure a smooth "go-live" scenario.
Collaborate with stakeholders, business users and subject matter experts (SME) to discover and document business requirements, translating from high-level business requirements into the user stories, necessary details and specifications needed by other team members, which includes internal & external stakeholders, quality assurance testing member, technical developer, system integrators and other members of the team through meeting facilitation and presentation.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
5+ years of experience in IT or business systems analysis, preferably in data-centric or AI-related projects.
Experience with enterprise applications such as SAP, CRM, SharePoint, and cloud platforms.
Managed mid-size to large projects
Demonstrated experience with best practices for the applicable job functions
Multiple application full life-cycle implementations and upgrade experience
Skills and Attributes:
Proficient in SQL (queries and stored procedures) and API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
Good understanding of data modeling and relational databases
Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in Python, Excel, and Power BI.
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, RAG, and their application in business solutions.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Experience with Azure Application Insights
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
