Job Details
- Strong experience in insurance (optimally group insurance including such products as Dental, Supplemental Life, Short/Long Term Disability, State Mandated Medical Leave, Vision, etc.), and optimally with a broker heavy distribution model
- Hands on experience with Tableau (BI tool) and Alteryx (data wrangling tool)
- Strong understanding of the key data domains involved in group insurance (so like, member, employer, broker, policy/product, provider, claim, etc.)
- Experience managing people (on + off-shore run team)
- Experience establishing new processes for report development, and managing them in production with high SLAs
- Really strong client hands Will need to work with client teams to effectively scope/size new reporting requests (and/or enhancements to existing reports) and to collaboratively prioritize, commit on delivery timelines (and of course deliver against them)
- Strong presentation and communication skills both from a written & PowerPoint perspective, as well as verbal (will need to be able to simplify things for business users and have tough conversations when being asked to do the impossible, or to explain data issues/solutions in a very pedestrian way)
- Strong acumen for process measurement/improvement (e.g., baselining and measuring unit costs of BI delivery, BI team throughput, identifying process issues and putting in remediation steps then tracking their effectiveness)
- Probably 15+ years in data generally (not necessary all in insurance, but at least 5-10 in BI/analytics)
