The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is rceruiting for a visionary Senior Citrix VDI Architect to spearhead a high-stakes cloud transformation for a premier enterprise environment. In this pivotal role, you will act as the primary technical authority, transitioning a massive user base of 10,000+ individuals from traditional on-premises infrastructure to a cutting-edge Azure-based Desktop as a Service (DaaS) platform.

This is a 12-month+ engagement based in the Greater Buffalo area, offering a sophisticated hybrid work model. You won''t just be maintaining systems; you will be the lead engineer defining the future state of virtualized workspace technology for a global leader.


What You’ll Do

  • Architect and deploy a robust, scalable Citrix DaaS framework within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, ensuring global accessibility and high availability.

  • Orchestrate the end-to-end migration strategy, moving thousands of enterprise users from legacy environments to modern cloud-native solutions.

  • Engineer sophisticated security protocols and performance enhancements using tools like uberAgent, App Protection, and Device Trust.

  • Synthesize complex infrastructure requirements into actionable designs that prioritize data integrity, regulatory compliance, and seamless user experience.

  • Automate provisioning workflows and lifecycle management processes to eliminate manual overhead and accelerate service delivery.

  • Drive technical consultations with high-level stakeholders and external partners to align engineering roadmaps with overarching business goals.

  • Develop comprehensive analytical dashboards using Power BI and Microsoft Graph to monitor platform health and optimize the end-user journey.

  • Mentor internal engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence through rigorous design reviews and knowledge sharing.

  • Champion the integration of identity services and virtual networking to ensure a cohesive hybrid-cloud footprint.


What You Bring

  • Extensive Expertise: A minimum of 8 years of dedicated experience in systems design, infrastructure engineering, or enterprise architecture.

  • Cloud Mastery: Proven track record of leading large-scale on-premises to Azure migrations, specifically focusing on virtual networking and hybrid identity (Entra ID).

  • Citrix Command: Advanced proficiency in Citrix Cloud services and DaaS environments, with the ability to manage complex application containerization and streaming.

  • Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated ability to translate abstract business needs into high-performance technical specifications.

  • Operational Excellence: Deep understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and infrastructure lifecycle best practices.

  • Communication Skills: The capacity to engage confidently with executive stakeholders and provide technical coaching to junior staff.

  • Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is highly preferred; experience in highly regulated sectors (such as Financial Services) is a significant plus.
