Technical Surveillance Countermeasures Practitioner

Our organization is in search of a dedicated, career-focused Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) Practitioner to become part of our team in Springfield, VA.

The TSCM Practitioner will utilize their extensive technical expertise and knowledge to bolster the security initiatives of our sponsor. This includes performing specialized technical risk assessments, overseeing TSCM operations, and ensuring adherence to both national and agency-specific policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directing and implementing TSCM operations, including Foreign Visit, Gift Inspection, Digital Counterexploitation, and Technical Evaluation activities.
• Ensuring that all operations, reporting, and training align with national and agency policies, TSCM program standards, and modernization objectives.
• Offering detailed technical advice and guidance through the preparation of specialized risk assessments, TSCM inquiry reports, and customized briefings.
• Evaluating intricate physical and technical security challenges to guarantee compliance with ICD 705 SCIF physical security standards and DoD regulations for collateral areas.
• Identifying physical and acoustic security vulnerabilities and formulating cost-effective solutions to mitigate risks.
• Conducting Radio Frequency (RF) signal searches and assessing electronic processing equipment for potential security weaknesses.
• Preparing all necessary correspondence, briefing materials, and threat reports in accordance with client guidelines and after-action requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED with over 10 years of experience in technical document writing and editing.
• Possession of a current Interagency Training Center (ITC) TSCM Certification.
• Dedication to completing a minimum of 40 hours of discipline-specific training or refresher courses each fiscal year.
• Capability to achieve and maintain baseline certification for DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II compliance within one year of assignment.
• Experience in conducting technical evaluations and identifying security weaknesses in complex settings.
• Proficiency in producing comprehensive technical risk assessment documents and specialized reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Bachelor s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Credentialed graduate from an accredited federal or DoD Counterintelligence training academy.
• Professional experience with Telephone Security Group (TSG) requirements and telephone security operations.

Clearance Requirements:

• An active/current TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
• Occasional movement within the office to access file cabinets and office equipment is necessary.
• Frequent communication with colleagues, management, and clients is required, which may involve delivering presentations. Accurate information exchange is essential in these interactions.
