IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.
Our client is looking for a Certified Project Manager. The client is looking for a result oriented and adaptable individual with a can do attitude to lead business intelligence projects, legacy, and modernized software/application development projects for our business partners. This project manager will lead multiple projects from small to multi-million-dollar development efforts.
The project manager will work with other project managers and possibly with other Departments such as the. The person in this role will lead the business intelligence and software/ application development team members to complete projects and work closely with our business partners to ensure its success.
Tasks
- Be responsible for technical and overall project management on enterprise-wide business intelligence, software/application development, and infrastructure/ architecture projects.
- Works closely with the project sponsor and IT senior management to understand and prioritize project tasks. Solves complex technical problems. Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives in support of enterprise-wide business intelligence.
- Builds an effective team and directs the work of the project team to meet project milestones. Develops standards, policies and procedures for the form, structure and attributes of the business intelligence documentation, tools, and systems. Develops data/information quality metrics.
- Develop and maintain project charters, plans, deliverables, and other project artifacts.
- Work closely with the project sponsor and IT senior management to understand and prioritize project tasks, solve complex technical problems, understand business objectives and problems, identify alternative solutions, and perform feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis.
- Research new technology and develops business cases to support enterprise-wide business intelligence solutions. Participate in special projects as required.
- The Project Manager Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams.
- Follows standard project management industry practices such as the PMI's framework.
- Understands business and technical objectives of a project, and works closely with project sponsor.
- Creates project charter and work plan, and tracks budget and schedule progress via appropriate metrics.
- Establishes project organization and methodologies, and defines roles and responsibilities.
- Documents risks and develops mitigation plans. Manages scope.

NOTE: Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. Local candidates preferred. This position is currently remote (within the State of WI). However, position status is subject to change. Onsite work is not likely, but candidate should be prepared to come onsite if required. On call hours may be required. Weekend coverage might be required.

- 12+ years - Project management experience with leading large and complex database management systems, business intelligence tools and systems.
- 12+ years - Thorough understanding of industry standard project management methodologies and reporting
