Job Title: Tech Lead
Location: Kansas City, MO (On-site)
Type: Full-Time

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead to drive the technical execution and delivery of a development team working on modern, cloud-first applications. This role combines hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions while guiding and mentoring team members.

The Tech Lead will collaborate closely with product and project stakeholders, make sound architectural decisions aligned with standards, and act as a technical escalation point to ensure smooth delivery across distributed teams.

Responsibilities:

Own technical delivery for assigned products or service areas
Lead hands-on development across backend services, APIs, front-end components, and cloud infrastructure
Make local architectural and design decisions aligned with enterprise standards
Partner with Product Owners and Project Managers on planning, prioritization, and execution
Coordinate development efforts across onshore, offshore, and vendor teams
Mentor engineers and provide ongoing technical guidance and feedback
Review designs, pull requests, and code to ensure quality, performance, and consistency
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues
Ensure applications are production-ready and supported post-deployment

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
6–10 years of professional software development experience
Strong experience leading full-stack development initiatives
Hands-on experience building and operating applications in Microsoft Azure
Proven ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and drive technical decisions
Experience delivering complex systems in collaborative, agile environments

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with distributed or cross-functional teams
Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture and CI/CD practices
Prior experience mentoring or coaching engineers
