Job Title: Mainframe Systems Programmer/DBA
Location: Downey, CA - Onsite
Duration: Contract - 12+ months
Pay range: $80.00 - $90.00 per hour (DOE)
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support complex database upgrades, installations, and system enhancements across mainframe environments
- Plan, configure, test, and maintain core database systems including DB2, IMS, and ADABAS
- Perform database health checks, performance tuning, capacity planning, and system optimization
- Design logical and physical database structures and support backup, recovery, and replication processes
- Provide technical consulting to application and operations teams on database architecture and best practices
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience as a Mainframe Systems Programmer/DBA, including 3+ years in a lead role
- Strong expertise in IBM mainframe technologies: z/OS, DB2, IMS, ADABAS, CICS, and JCL
- Hands-on experience with database design, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and system utilities (SMP/E, BMC Tools)
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field
