Job description:
SharePoint Online | Microsoft Purview | SharePoint Premium/Syntex
client is seeking a hands-on Microsoft 365 ECM & Records Management Specialist to support the implementation and modernization of an enterprise content and records management environment within a large public-sector organization. The specialist will work with the Information Architect, Technical Lead, Security Architect, and OAG IT team to translate enterprise information architecture, records management, security, and governance requirements into configured Microsoft 365 capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience implementing SharePoint Online, Microsoft Purview Records Management, and SharePoint Premium/Syntex, with particular emphasis on metadata-driven content management, retention, records declaration, classification, search, security, and document lifecycle governance.
Key responsibilities include:
Configure and implement Microsoft Purview Records Management, including retention labels/policies, file plans, record declaration, disposition processes, auditability, and related governance controls.
Configure SharePoint Online ECM capabilities including content types, site columns, managed metadata, libraries, views, search, permissions, and document lifecycle controls.
Configure SharePoint Premium/Syntex capabilities for document classification, metadata extraction, content processing, and intelligent document management.
Translate approved information architecture, taxonomy, records schedules, and security requirements into Microsoft 365 configurations.
Support complex metadata structures appropriate for multiple bureabusiness units with differing document, confidentiality, retention, and access requirements.
Assist with migration mapping and validation to ensure metadata, permissions, document properties, and records requirements are preserved appropriately.
Configure and validate integration of SharePoint/Purview capabilities with Power Automate and other Microsoft 365 services.
Support testing of retention, disposition, legal/records controls, search, security, and automated classification.
Develop configuration documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials and work alongside client IT personnel to enable client-led ongoing administration and rollout.
Preferred experience: 5+ years with Microsoft 365/SharePoint, including recent hands-on SharePoint Online experience; demonstrable implementation experience with Purview Records Management and preferably SharePoint Premium/Syntex; experience with enterprise ECM implementations involving large or complex metadata/taxonomy structures; and public-sector, legal, regulatory, or other compliance-intensive environments.
