Schedule: 4 - 10 hour shifts with overtime as needed. Night and Day shifts available.

Focus: The Engineering Technician Lead - Production provides technical leadership and daily coordination for Engineering Technicians supporting manufacturing operations. This role serves as the primary technical resource for assigned production areas, ensuring equipment reliability, product quality, and efficient operations. The Lead partners with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to troubleshoot complex equipment issues, implement process improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives while mentoring technicians and promoting a safe, high-performing work environment.

Engineering Technician Production - Lead Job Functions:
  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of Engineering Technicians, assigning priorities, providing technical guidance, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with production schedules.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for high-speed automated manufacturing equipment, performing complex equipment setup, adjustments, repairs, and process optimization to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
  • Partner with engineers to implement process improvements, support capital projects, validate equipment modifications, collect and analyze production data, and recommend solutions that improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Oversee equipment inspections, preventive maintenance activities, tooling changes, and quality verification using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Mentor and train Engineering Technicians on equipment operation, troubleshooting techniques, safety procedures, and best practices while fostering accountability, technical development, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and production documentation, communicate equipment status and project updates with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational requirements.

Engineering Technician Production - Lead Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree* or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience supporting mechanical, electrical, automated, or high-speed manufacturing equipment, including demonstrated technical leadership or lead technician experience.
  • Previous experience as an Engineer Technician at Lake City required.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, and using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop technicians while coordinating multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, communication, and decision-making skills with a commitment to safety, product quality, and operational excellence.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, or support emergency equipment issues as business needs require.

Location-Specific Requirements:
  • Must currently have a Department of Defense secret clearance.
  • Must have a valid US Driver's License.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
