Hiring: Data Architect with Graph
Location: Remote
Job Type: Contract (12 Months, Possible Extension)
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a comprehensive health check of the existing graph infrastructure, including Neo4j, Stardog, or ArangoDB.
Assess and optimize graph schemas using RDF/OWL and Labeled Property Graph (LPG) models.
Evaluate ontology design for scalability and compliance with industry standards such as MeSH, SNOMED CT, and UMLS.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in graph ingestion pipelines and complex Cypher/SPARQL queries.
Develop a strategic roadmap with recommendations for graph platform modernization, cloud migration, build-vs-buy decisions, and GraphRAG integration.
Collaborate with Research and Clinical stakeholders to translate technical graph concepts into business value.
Design and support ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting structured and unstructured biomedical data into graph databases.
Implement graph analytics and graph data science capabilities, including centrality, community detection, and machine learning integration.
Required Skills
10+ years of experience in Data Architecture with strong expertise in Graph Databases.
Hands-on experience with Neo4j, Stardog, ArangoDB, or similar graph platforms.
Strong knowledge of RDF, OWL, SPARQL, Cypher, Gremlin, and semantic web technologies.
Experience with ontology modeling, Linked Data principles, URI strategies, and knowledge graph design.
Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences domain experience working with biomedical datasets such as gene-disease relationships, chemical compounds, patient journeys, clinical research, EDC, or LIMS data.
Strong programming experience in Python and Java.
Experience integrating knowledge graphs with AI/LLMs and GraphRAG frameworks is highly preferred.
Familiarity with Graph Data Science libraries and advanced graph analytics.
Preferred Experience
Bio-ontologies such as OBO Foundry, ChEMBL, Ensembl, MeSH, SNOMED CT, or UMLS.
Cloud-based graph architecture and modernization initiatives.
Knowledge graph solutions supporting AI-driven research and clinical analytics.
