Role Overview
The team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design and build compliance automation systems. This role involves creating tooling that scales with new jurisdictions and adapts as regulations evolve. You will partner with compliance stakeholders to build secure, cloud-native solutions and turn compliance requirements into reliable, production-ready software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build cloud-native compliance workflow services to streamline and accelerate compliance functions, including incident reporting and external filing processes.
- Translate multi-jurisdiction regulatory requirements into scalable system designs by collaborating with compliance, legal, and operations stakeholders.
- Build and maintain event-driven integrations across internal services, including notification systems and ticketing workflows.
- Implement secure data handling practices, building systems that handle sensitive regulatory data with appropriate encryption, access controls, and audit trails.
- Operate production services with comprehensive monitoring, alarming, and logging, and participate in on-call rotations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and contribute to code quality through code reviews and documentation.
- Apply NLP capabilities for translation and comprehension.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Approximately 3-5+ years of professional software development experience, including a background in cloud-native development. A minimum of 2 years of design or architecture experience is also required.
Technical Skills: Strong experience with AWS and programming proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript/HTML/CSS. An understanding of security and compliance frameworks is necessary.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Full-stack development experience.
- Experience with CI/CD, serverless architecture, and infrastructure as code (e.g., CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform).
- Experience building event-driven or workflow orchestration systems (e.g., Step Functions, EventBridge).
- Experience with security services (KMS, IAM) and data protection patterns.
- AWS certifications.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks such as SOX, HIPAA, or GDPR.
- Experience building solutions using generative AI services or case management systems.
