Position Overview
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking an experienced Applications Architect 3 / Senior PeopleSoft FSCM Upgrade Specialist to support critical ERP modernization initiatives. This role will focus on upgrading and maintaining PeopleSoft Financials and Supply Chain Management (FSCM) environments while supporting simultaneous ERP implementation and upgrade projects.
The selected consultant will be responsible for architecting, building, configuring, and maintaining multiple PeopleSoft environments on Linux and Oracle platforms. The role requires close collaboration with database administrators, infrastructure teams, and project stakeholders to ensure successful system upgrades, environment stability, and performance optimization.
This is a remote opportunity; however, candidates must be available to work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, when project activities require.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 PUM upgrade activities from planning through deployment.
- Design, build, configure, and maintain multiple PeopleSoft environments.
- Perform infrastructure administration and environment management for PeopleSoft applications.
- Configure and manage middleware technologies including WebLogic and Tuxedo.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within PeopleTools 8.6x environments.
- Develop and maintain advanced automation and administration scripts using Linux shell scripting and SQL.
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot PeopleSoft Search Framework technologies including Elasticsearch and OpenSearch.
- Coordinate closely with database administrators to support environment refreshes, migrations, and upgrades.
- Ensure system performance, security, reliability, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Support testing, deployment, and post-upgrade validation activities.
- Create and maintain technical architecture documentation, procedures, and operational guides.
- Participate in after-hours implementation and maintenance activities as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience with PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 PUM Upgrades.
- Minimum 8 years of experience managing WebLogic and Tuxedo middleware environments.
- Minimum 8 years of experience troubleshooting PeopleTools 8.6x environments.
- Minimum 8 years of advanced scripting experience using Linux and SQL.
- Minimum 8 years of experience with PeopleSoft Search Framework technologies, including Elasticsearch and OpenSearch.
- Strong knowledge of Linux, Oracle databases, and enterprise application architecture.
- Experience supporting large-scale ERP implementations and upgrades.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while coordinating across multiple technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Federal, State, or Local Government agencies.
- Experience collaborating with hosting or managed service providers.
- Experience using Phire for change management and migration management.
- Experience with Tivoli Scheduler administration and job scheduling.
- Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
