Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with expertise in HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems to join our team in Jersey City. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in TACL, Prognosis, and modern scripting/programming languages like Python or Java, along with exposure to automation tools such as Ansible.

This role involves working on mission-critical systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support applications on HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems
• Write and optimize scripts using TACL (Tandem Advanced Command Language)
• Monitor and manage system performance using Prognosis
• Design and develop solutions using Python and/or Java
• Implement automation workflows using Ansible
• Build and integrate APIs for system communication and data exchange
• Troubleshoot system issues and ensure high availability of applications
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams for deployment and monitoring
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems
• Proficiency in TACL scripting
• Experience with Prognosis monitoring tools
• Solid programming skills in Python or Java
• Experience with Ansible automation
• Knowledge of API development and integration
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Familiarity with ServiceNow
• Basic understanding of Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform)
• Exposure to AI/Machine Learning concepts
• Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience in software development and system support
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
