Our Client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Charlestown, MA in a full-time, on-site capacity. Our Client is an innovative robotics company developing next-generation industrial automation solutions. This role focuses on designing and deploying advanced electrical systems that power complex robotic platforms in real-world environments.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to own system-level electrical architecture while working at the cutting edge of robotics. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced R&D environments and enjoys both hands-on engineering and technical leadership. You'll play a key role in bringing products from concept to production, while helping shape engineering standards, mentoring team members, and driving innovation across multiple projects.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering within robotics, automation, or electromechanical systems
  • Strong expertise in electrical system design, safety, and control systems
  • Experience with AC/DC power distribution and 3-phase industrial power systems (U.S. and EU standards)
  • Hands-on experience with embedded systems, including analog/digital circuits and power electronics
  • Proficiency in PCB design, schematic capture, and layout tools (Altium or equivalent)
  • Experience with motors, motor control systems, and sensors (e.g., encoders, Hall effect sensors, load cells)
  • Background in system integration for robotic or industrial automation platforms
  • Ability to create electrical documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with cable harnessing and interconnect design
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as OnShape
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508)
  • Experience with autonomous mobile robots and industrial robot safety standards
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills

Daily Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical system design, architecture, and technical reviews
  • Develop requirements, specifications, and validation plans
  • Design and debug embedded systems and power electronics
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams
  • Support prototyping, testing, certification, and production release
  • Create and maintain schematics, PCB layouts, and technical documentation
  • Guide and support engineering efforts across multiple projects
  • Troubleshoot issues during build, deployment, and field operations
