Job Overview: The Financial Business Analyst will serve as a critical link between business needs and technology solutions within the Finance organization. This role involves analyzing business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, supporting financial reporting initiatives, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and enable data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with teams across Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Technology, and external partners to support strategic initiatives, regulatory reporting, process improvements, and system enhancements.
Responsibilities: - Business Analysis and Requirements Management:
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories.
- Conduct gap analyses and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and requirements sessions with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze financial data to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and metrics to track key business performance indicators.
- Support month-end and quarter-end reporting activities.
- Validate financial data accuracy and integrity across systems.
- Data Analysis and Process Improvement:
- Perform data analysis using SQL, Excel, and reporting tools.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data interpretation.
- Recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and control effectiveness.
- Support automation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Project Support:
- Participate in Agile and Waterfall project environments.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, testers, and business stakeholders.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management, and solution validation.
- Support implementation and post-production activities.
- Regulatory and Risk Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and internal controls.
- Support audit requests and regulatory reporting initiatives.
- Document business processes and control procedures.
Qualifications: - Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3 to 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, or Financial Business Analyst.
- Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with SQL for data analysis and validation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Preferred:
- Experience within financial services, mortgage, banking, or capital markets industries.
- Knowledge of Fannie Mae or GSE operations.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI tools.
- Understanding of data governance and data quality practices.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday Financials).
- CBAP, PMI-PBA, CFA, CPA, or related certifications preferred.

Pay Range: $60 - $64/hour on W2
