Summary

Project Manager - Intermediate

is seeking a skilled Project Manager Intermediate to provide project coordination and operational management support to the Program Manager. This role manages assigned projects and initiatives within the program, coordinating technical teams, tracking milestones, and ensuring project deliverables are completed in accordance with Government requirements. The Project Manager works closely with Mission Area Managers, technical personnel, and Government stakeholders to support the planning, execution, and monitoring of IT initiatives supporting Cadet Command operations.

Location: (On-Site) Fort Knox, KY

Security Clearance: Verifiable DoD Secret (or higher) is Required

Certifications: Project Management Certification (PMP, CAPM or equivalent) preferred

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Program Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing program activities.
  • Manage assigned IT projects and initiatives across functional areas including IT operations, audiovisual support, systems administration, and enterprise services.
  • Coordinate with Mission Area Managers (MAMs), technical staff, and Government personnel to track project progress and ensure alignment with mission objectives.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, milestones, and status reporting.
  • Track project deliverables, action items, and operational tasks to ensure completion within established timelines.
  • Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies and coordinate with leadership to implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support the preparation of status reports, progress updates, and project documentation for Government leadership.
  • Coordinate project activities across multiple locations supporting Cadet Command headquarters and brigade operations.
  • Facilitate communication between technical teams and Government stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly understood.
  • Assist with planning and execution of IT integration, system implementation, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure project activities are conducted in accordance with DoD, Army, and program operational requirements.
  • Provide coordination support for meetings, technical reviews, and project planning sessions.

Basic Qualifications Required Education, Certifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Management, Business Administration, or related field
    • Associate's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting project management or IT operations within a technical or enterprise IT environment
  • Experience coordinating projects supporting organizations with 500 or more users
  • Experience supporting IT service delivery, system implementations, or enterprise technology initiatives
  • Familiarity with DoD or federal IT environments preferred
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to track multiple tasks, projects, and deliverables simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work effectively with technical teams and Government stakeholders
  • Experience using project tracking tools and reporting mechanisms
