Cloud Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Clayton, MO that is seeking a Cloud Engineer within the Technical Operations team. The role blends networking, security, scripting, and system administration skills and is responsible for providing developer support and application systems administration. The client is looking for a candidate strong in Terraform and to help drive the organization toward an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) model to reduce implementation time and improve repeatability across environments.

Duties:
* Lead the shift toward an IaC operating model to accelerate delivery and reduce time to implement infrastructure changes
* Build Terraform from scratch (not just maintenance): design, author, and actively develop Terraform configurations and reusable patterns/modules for Azure infrastructure
* Continuously enhance and repeat infrastructure builds as new environments and needs arise
* Manage Azure environments across production, staging, and development
* Own operational support for cloud infrastructure and ensure platform reliability and uptime
* Act as CI/CD release authority, including deployment gating and release controls to protect production stability
Implement and manage security controls such as:
* WAF
* Key
* Vault
* Certificates
* Identity/IAM

REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong experience in Terraform, including having developed Terraform solutions from scratch (authoring and building, not just consuming existing modules) - 3-5 years
* Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and supporting multiple environments (prod/stage/dev)
* Demonstrated skills across networking, security, scripting/automation, and system administration
* Experience with CI/CD release processes, deployment gating, and production change control
* Experience implementing/managing security components like WAF, Key Vault, certs, and identity

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
