The person has to have deep Oracle DBA Technical experience and have an interest in being a DBA (Operational support, on-call, etc ). Also desire Database Architect experience to be able to provide architectural direction for Oracle & SQL Server env s (business case development / communication / influence).

Technical Expertise (Primary):

• • Advanced Oracle DBA skills (installation, configuration, upgrades, performance tuning, backup/recovery)
  • Some SQL Server administration experience (performance tuning, security, high availability, maintenance)
  • Experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability environments

• Enterprise-wide scope
• Designs long-term database strategies and architecture
• Defines standards, patterns, and modernization roadmaps
• Leads transformational initiatives (cloud migration, refactoring, automation frameworks)
• Shapes the vision for how data platforms evolve
• Evaluates and recommends new technologies (cloud-native DBs, sharding models, HA/DR patterns)
• Works closely with architects and leadership on future-state design
• Drives efficiency, automation, and modernization initiatives across teams
• Leads through technical authority and influence, not necessarily people management
• Mentors DBAs and dev teams
• Provides architectural guidance across business units
• Represents database engineering in cross-functional architecture or governance boards
• Deep expertise across multiple database technologies
• Expert in database internals, distributed systems, and large-scale architecture
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
• Skilled in automation, IaC, CI/CD for databases
• Works directly with architects, and product teams
• Communicates technical strategy in business terms
• Shapes enterprise standards and governance
• Enterprise data platform architecture
• Technology evaluations and recommendations
• Automation frameworks for provisioning, DR, monitoring
• Roadmaps for modernization or cloud migration
• Standards, patterns, and governance models
