Senior Database Administrator - ADABAS Administrator

Introduction:

The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for overseeing and managing the database systems of the organization. They will work closely with the team to analyze user requirements, design database solutions, and ensure the quality and performance of information systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Software AG products, ADABAS, Natural, COBOL, and other related technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain database systems using ADABAS, Natural, COBOL, and other relevant technologies
• Analyze user requirements and design database solutions to meet business needs
• Test, implement, and perform quality assurance on information systems
• Advise on system architecture and develop documentation for procedures, policies, and processes
• Implement state and federal mandates in Linux systems related to SNAP, TANF, and child welfare policies
• Utilize Jira and KACE ITSM systems for efficient workflow management
• Work with SCRUM/iteration methodologies to ensure project success
• Modernize legacy applications and workflows to meet current standards
• Ensure compliance with federal requirements related to child welfare systems

Required Skills:

• Experience with ADABAS, Ajax, CA-7, CICS, COBOL, Database, Dell KACE, Documentation, EntireX, IBM Informix, Information Systems, JIRA, JCL, MVS, NATURAL, SCL, Scrum, SQL, RDBMS, Quality Assurance, VSAM, Agile, IT Service Management, Unix, Workflow, webMethods, z/Linux, Systems Architecture, Software Development Methodology, Policies and Procedures, Testing, Linux, Replication
• Experience in analyzing user requirements and designing database solutions
• Knowledge of SNAP, TANF, eligibility, economic assistance, and child welfare policies and procedures
• Proficiency in modernizing legacy applications and workflows

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with child welfare workflows and systems
• Knowledge of SCRUM/iteration methodologies
• Experience with relational database systems such as CICS, JCL, CA-7, VSAM
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC
