Summary

Position Summary

Acuren Inspection is looking for a Mechanical Testing Technician to support our laboratory operations. The Mechanical Testing Technician will perform Room Temperature, Elevated Temperature, and Stress Rupture Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and record results.

Responsibilities

  • Receipt and preform final inspection of tensile test specimens
  • Perform tensile tests
  • Reviewing and reporting of tensile data
  • Fabrication of thermocouples
  • Receipt and final inspection of stress rupture test specimens
  • Perform stress rupture test
  • Review and prepare reporting of stress rupture data

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years in materials laboratory setting or materials-related field
  • Current qualification in Room Temperature Testing, Elevated Temperature Testing, and/or Stress Rupture Testing would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge in heat treating practice and theory
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed technical specifications and drawings
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to safely carry out oral and written work instructions.
