Description
The Enterprise API Management Group within our clients Engineering Enablement & Developer Experience organization is seeking highly skilled engineers to support a large-scale data center migration effort. This team owns both the Apigee infrastructure buildout and the end-to-end migration of APIs into the new data center.
We are looking for engineers who can contribute immediately to API engineering, automation development, and data-driven analysis. This is not a manual lift-and-shift effort-your work will focus on building automation frameworks, tooling, and repeatable processes to accelerate migration at scale.
You will collaborate with established Scrum teams, contribute to code releases, and help shape the next generation of API platform capabilities for our client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and migrate API proxies, policies, and configurations within Apigee.
- Develop automation to streamline API migration from legacy data centers to new infrastructure.
- Ensure API se- Build automation frameworks using Java, Python, and internal tooling.
- Create repeatable, scalable processes for API deployment and migration.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and existing engineering workflows.
- Partner with platform teams to enhance developer experience and reduce manual effort.
- Contribute to backend services built on Spring Boot and related Java frameworks.
- Work with LangChain and other internal frameworks where applicable.
- Support full-stack development needs for internal tools (Charlotte role especially).
- Analyze API metadata, traffic patterns, and dependency graphs to inform migration sequencing.
- Use Python and analytics tools to identify risks, gaps, and optimization opportunities.
- Support ML/AI-driven insights where applicable.
- - Work within Agile Scrum teams to deliver high-quality code and automation.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and platform roadmap planning.
- Partner with infrastructure, security, and application teams across the enterprise.

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
