DevSecOps Lead

ForwardIT is seeking a skilled DevSecOps Lead to oversee secure software development, deployment automation, and cloud security practices supporting enterprise AI and cloud-based solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience integrating security into DevOps workflows, implementing secure CI/CD pipelines, and supporting compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements, including FedRAMP Moderate and NIST SP 800-53.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of DevSecOps processes and secure software deployment practices.

• Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines.

• Integrate automated security testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks into development workflows.

• Collaborate with cloud architects, developers, and cybersecurity professionals to identify and remediate security risks.

• Support security requirements aligned with FedRAMP Moderate and NIST SP 800-53.

• Implement secure infrastructure configurations and deployment automation.

• Develop and maintain security documentation, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.

• Support vulnerability management, remediation tracking, and continuous security monitoring.

• Ensure secure deployment of AI-enabled applications and cloud infrastructure.

• Establish DevSecOps standards and promote security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in DevSecOps, DevOps security, cloud security, or related disciplines.

• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of secure software development practices and automated security testing.

• Experience with AWS cloud environments and security controls.

• Familiarity with FedRAMP Moderate and NIST SP 800-53.

• Understanding of vulnerability management and security monitoring.

• Experience with scripting and infrastructure automation.

• Strong troubleshooting, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.

• Experience with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS CloudFormation.

• Familiarity with SAST, DAST, and software composition analysis tools.

• AWS Certified Security – Specialty or relevant cloud certification.

• CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or other relevant cybersecurity certification.

• Experience supporting federal government cloud environments.
