As a Senior II Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain cloud services and web applications, focusing on FedRAMP standards. Working within a global team on advanced network security solutions, you will enjoy challenges in an exciting, dynamic learning environment.
\n
As a Senior II Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
\n
    \n
  • Developing new products and enhancing our Zero Trust solution with new features
  • \n
  • Designing, developing, validating, maintaining, releasing, and operating GoLang and/or Python based backend services
  • \n
  • Taking full ownership of your areas of work from design to deployment
  • \n
  • Participating in technical meetings and bringing innovation into every solution shipped
  • \n
  • Tackling and successfully resolving difficult problems
  • \n

To be successful in this role you will:
\n
    \n
  • Have 8+ years of experience with a degree in MTech/ME/BTech/BE in Computer Science or a related field
  • \n
  • Have experience with modern authorization mechanisms and modern identity management concepts
  • \n
  • Have experience in writing backend applications using GoLang / Python or similar
  • \n
  • Have a good understanding of microservices architecture, scalable architectures, and have work experience with RESTful APIs
  • \n
  • Be familiar with relational and non-relational databases, caching mechanisms, and service communications
  • \n
  • Demonstrate understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • \n
  • Have experience with Azure/AWS/Google Cloud Platform or other cloud-based development and high scale systems
  • \n
  • Be eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
  • \n

Compensation
\n
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $146,400 - $263,600/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
