Help

• Reviews and evaluates the effects on security of changes to the network, including interfaces with other networks.
• Ensures security violations and incidents are reported to the appropriate authorities and provide assistance with investigations.
• Implements the Army Information Assurance Program (AIAP) to ensure the Army Enterprise Information structure (AEI) is operational and secure.
• Evaluates network security configuration and perform on-site network security assessment.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). Critical Sensitive-Position involves access to TOP SECRET information.
• Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel will be required approximately 20% of the time and may require worldwide travel.
• This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R
• (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical Under the Drug Abuse Testing Program) and must pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• This position is considered to be Key Essential. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the agency to function effectively.
• Because of the essential nature of this position, shall require that it not be filled by Ready Reservists to preclude such positions from being vacated during a mobilization.
• This position requires three level medical screening before moving to Kwajalein.
• a. The employee: health screening information will be provided by their Primary Healthcare Provider or Occupational Medicine Clinic.
• b. The spouse: health requirements are consistent with those of the employee. Information will be provided by a Primary Healthcare Provider or Occupational Medicine Clinic.
• c. Children under 18: health status review requires a letter from their pediatrician that confirms up to date vaccination status. Antibody titers (to confirm immunity status)
• or other bloodwork are not usually necessary for children unless there is an underlying medical issue(s) identified by the pediatrician.

• This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid U.S. Passport.
• In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the following requirements for each Cyber work role (except Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering) at the assigned proficiency level:
• 1) Foundational qualification requirements within 9 months, 2) Resident qualification requirements within 12 months, 3) 20 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) per work role code (which can overlap).

Organization is defined as current, permanent ARCYBER/NETCOM employees only.

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Applicant must have one year of directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by reviewing network threats and vulnerabilities, reporting security violations, and assisting with investigations; managing system implementation, developing operating procedures, and providing guidance on information technology (IT) security policies; reviewing system and network configuration for accuracy, performing security assessments, and analyzing network architecture; evaluating contractor personnel's performance, and reviewing contract provisions.

Qualifying experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology (IT) related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

(1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.

(2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: resolving routine and non-routine problems, questions, or complaints; developing and maintaining strong, mutually supportive working relationships with customers; conducting evaluation of support to determine quality of services and customer satisfaction, and recommending procedural changes based on customer need or changes in policy and/or regulation.

(3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information.

(4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate.

• In accordance with DoD CES Personnel System Implementation Guidance for Overseas Rotations and Administrative Return Rights, employees must be able to satisfy the rotation requirement and tour limitations in DoD Instruction 1400.25 Volume 1230.
