An organization is seeking an accomplished Senior Workday Solution Architect with specialized expertise in Workday Financials to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise financial solutions. This role requires deep functional and technical knowledge of Workday Finance modules and the ability to align ERP solutions with organizational objectives across industries such as higher education, public sector, healthcare, and not-for-profit organizations.
The Senior Workday Solution Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to architect and deliver scalable, compliant, and innovative Workday Financials solutions that support long-term business success.

Key Responsibilities
Workday Financials Expertise
- Facilitate requirements confirmation and review existing solution designs; conduct gap analysis and recommend solution options or alternatives.
- Architect scalable and efficient Workday Financials solutions that integrate seamlessly across modules and align with business requirements.
- Design, develop, and implement Workday Financials solutions, including:
- Core Financials
- Banking & Settlements
- Accounting Center
- Revenue Management
- Contracts-to-Cash
- Record-to-Report
- Procure-to-Pay
- Grants and Projects
- Optimize Grants Management processes, including Pre- and Post-Award, Effort Certification, Subawards, Salary Cap, and Award Budget Plans.
- Collaborate with implementation partners to optimize integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, BIRT, REST/SOAP APIs, and Prism Analytics.
- Identify, design, and implement Workday Extend solutions to address functional gaps and improve efficiency.
- Leverage market tools and third-party solutions as appropriate to meet business requirements.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, federal grant guidelines, and other applicable financial regulations.
- Design and implement security frameworks, data governance strategies, and Foundation Data Model (FDM) structures to support reporting and compliance.
- Lead large-scale ERP migrations from legacy systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) to Workday, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Develop and implement automated workflows for key financial processes, including payroll reconciliation, revenue recognition, expense processing, and subaward tracking.
- Guide development of advanced composite and matrix reports, dashboards, and analytics using Workday reporting tools, Prism Analytics, and Extend.
- Enhance financial visibility and decision-making through robust, scalable reporting frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- Active Workday Financials certifications, including Core Financials, Banking & Settlements, Revenue Management, Grants Management, Accounting Center, and Contracts-to-Cash (valid through 2025 R1).
- Minimum of 10+ years of ERP implementation experience, with 7+ years focused on Workday Financials.
- Advanced technical proficiency with Workday integration tools (Studio, EIB, BIRT, REST/SOAP APIs).
- Strong experience with cross-functional Workday modules such as Adaptive Planning, Prism Analytics, and Workday Extend.
- Proven experience ensuring compliance with US GAAP and federal grants regulations.
Preferred Skills
- 10+ years of experience supporting multi-tenant Workday Financials deployments in public sector environments.
- 10+ years of expertise designing and implementing Accounting Center solutions for cash-basis reporting and advanced financial allocations.
- 10+ years of experience leading ERP migrations from legacy platforms, including PeopleSoft to Workday.
