Senior Product Designer

Description
Senior Product Designer responsible for end-to-end ownership of a technician-facing mobile application used to install and service products. This role sits within a cross-functional product team and partners closely with product management, engineering, and QA.
The designer will leverage an existing mobile design system to build scalable, efficient workflows focused on real-world, blue-collar technician use cases. The role emphasizes functionality, efficiency, and systems thinking over purely visual design. This is a high-autonomy role with full ownership of the product's UX/UI and the opportunity to influence future AI-assisted design processes.
Major Responsibilities

• Design mobile experiences that integrate with connected systems and physical products.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and QA to define requirements, explore design options, and ensure a high quality implementation.
• Apply a systems-thinking approach to create cohesive end-to-end experiences.
• Conduct and synthesize user research to inform design direction and validate solutions.
• Develop and iterate on wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma and AI-assisted design tools
• Contribute to the evolution of our design system and advocate for consistent, scalable design patterns.
• Communicate design rationale and decisions clearly to stakeholders and team members.
• Participate in product planning conversations and contribute to roadmap prioritization through the lens of user experience.
• Provide feedback to peers and support junior designers through informal mentorship.
• Champion a user-centered mindset within cross-functional teams and help shape design best practices across the organization.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field-or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience designing digital products for mobile and web applications.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong design craft, thoughtful problem-solving, and shipped work at scale.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Advanced proficiency in Figma for design and prototyping
• Strong systems-thinking skills-able to connect hardware, software, and service touchpoints into cohesive experiences
• Experience with Connected Hardware / IoT product experience
• Technical curiosity and ability to learn quickly about product functionality, device connectivity, or installation workflows
• Strong understanding of user-centered design processes and interaction design principles
• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate design workflows, including ideation, prototyping, and content generation
• Ability to analyze user research and apply insights to improve product experiences
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design
• Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality design work
• Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working with ambiguity
• Demonstrated proficiency using AI-assisted design and development tools
• Familiarity with usability-testing and research tools (e.g., Maze, UserTesting)
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS
• Experience facilitating cross-functional collaboration around system-level design challenges

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $72.00/hr.
