Senior Network Engineer (Cisco & Palo Alto)

Overview / Summary

Seeking a skilled Network Administrator Consultant to support and strengthen daily Network Operations Center (NOC) operations. Reporting to the NOC Manager, this role will serve as a technical point of reference for the NOC team and work on complex assignments requiring independent judgment in troubleshooting, recommendations, and implementing changes with minimal supervision.

The position is responsible for managing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting a statewide network infrastructure utilizing technologies including Cisco/Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet/FortiGate, Certes, Citrix NetScaler, and Trellix. The ideal candidate will proactively monitor network performance, support cybersecurity compliance efforts, and maintain optimal network connectivity in a fast-paced, multi-team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrades of networking products
  • Troubleshoot network failures and identify network-related issues
  • Support network analysis, design, installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Maintain network diagrams and related network documentation
  • Provide configuration support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
  • Troubleshoot and remediate issues within a complex voice-integrated infrastructure
  • Monitor network performance and ensure efficient communication across the network
  • Review and improve security compliance through cybersecurity best practices
  • Implement updates and changes to maintain secure version compliance and connectivity
  • Collaborate across multiple technical teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide knowledge transfer and informal training to peers when appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience with Cisco firewalls
  • 10+ years of experience with Cisco routers
  • 10+ years of experience with Cisco switches
  • 10+ years of experience with Cisco VPN
  • 10+ years of experience with Cisco administration
  • 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto firewalls
  • 2+ years of experience with Palo Alto XDR
  • Bachelor s Degree OR four years of relevant experience in addition to the required years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience with monitoring and tracing tools
  • 10+ years of experience in core network architecture
  • 10+ years of experience with advanced troubleshooting, routing, and switching
  • 4+ years of experience with wireless networks
  • 3+ years of experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure
  • CCNA certification
  • CCNP certification
