MAPPER Support Engineer
Join our dynamic team as a MAPPER Support Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in managing and supporting our MAPPER 2200 systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, installation, configuration, and maintenance of our MAPPER environments. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity and performance of our applications, providing essential support to our technical team and end-users.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain MAPPER 2200 systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Oversee the installation and configuration of MAPPER 2200 software, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
- Develop and implement backup, restoration, and recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity.
- Provide technical support for MAPPER 2200 operations, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions.
- Collaborate with application support teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of MAPPER-based applications.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and performance tuning.
- Document procedures and maintain comprehensive records of system configurations and changes.
- Assist in the development of training materials and provide guidance to junior support engineers.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 support coverage for critical systems.
Requirements
<>Required Skills- Minimum of 5 years of experience with MAPPER 2200 systems.
- Proven experience with MAPPER 2200 software generation, installation, and support.
- Strong knowledge of MAPPER 2200 configuration, sizing, performance, and operational support.
- Expertise in developing and implementing backup, restoration, and recovery procedures.
- Proficiency in MAPPER 2200 administration and maintenance tasks.
- Experience with MAPPER 2200 programming and application support.
- Working knowledge of MRI, DTM, and Scheduler within the MAPPER environment.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with other Unisys systems or similar mainframe environments is a plus.
- Certifications in MAPPER or related technologies are highly desirable.
