Overview
Our utilities client in New Orleans is seeking an experienced Oracle WACS / PPM Consultant to support a series of ongoing initiatives related to work and asset management and capital project tracking. This role will focus on hands-on configuration, implementation support, and integration alignment between operational work management and project financial tracking.
The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, IT leadership, and implementation partners to ensure project structures, work orders, and cost tracking are properly aligned across systems. This is a delivery-focused role, requiring someone comfortable working directly in the platform to configure, troubleshoot, and optimize system functionality.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead hands-on configuration and optimization of Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Cloud Service (WACS) to support utility operations and capital project execution.
  • Support integration and alignment with Oracle Fusion Project Portfolio Management (PPM) for capital project tracking and cost management.
  • Configure work orders, asset structures, and maintenance workflows within WACS.
  • Assist with mapping work management activities to project structures used for capital project accounting.
  • Collaborate with finance and project management teams to ensure accurate project costing and reporting.
  • Support data validation, system testing, and troubleshooting across WACS and related enterprise applications.
  • Work directly with internal IT teams and implementation partners to resolve configuration and integration issues.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for utilities using WACS in conjunction with project financial tracking tools.
  • Participate in project meetings, workshops, and technical working sessions to support implementation progress.
Required Experience
  • Hands-on experience implementing or configuring Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Cloud Service (WACS).
  • Experience working with Oracle Fusion Project Portfolio Management (PPM) or Oracle project financials.
  • Background supporting utility industry implementations, particularly related to asset management and capital projects.
  • Experience configuring work orders, asset hierarchies, and maintenance processes.
  • Understanding of how operational work management feeds capital project costing and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work directly within systems to configure functionality and resolve issues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across IT, operations, and finance teams.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Oracle Utilities platforms such as:
    • Oracle Utilities Customer Cloud Service (CCS)
    • Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing (CC&B)
    • Oracle Utilities Customer to Meter (C2M)
  • Experience integrating operational systems with enterprise ERP or project financial platforms.
  • Familiarity with capital infrastructure programs within regulated utility environments.
