Role Overview

Sacr-Davey is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of capital projects across the mining and heavy industrial sectors.

In this role, you will coordinate and manage multidisciplinary engineering work across project phases including conceptual studies, feasibility, FEED, detailed engineering, and commissioning support. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with client objectives.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience delivering brownfield and greenfield mining or heavy industrial projects, and is comfortable working with diverse engineering teams, clients, and project stakeholders.

While this is a hybrid position, candidates must be based in the Vancouver metropolitan area to support collaboration with project teams and occasional in-office or client-site engagement.

This role may involve periodic travel to project sites or client offices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership

  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver project objectives across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide technical leadership and coordination between engineering disciplines.
  • Support Project Managers in managing project execution and technical delivery.


2. Technical Expertise

  • Coordinate engineering deliverables across project lifecycle phases including concept development, feasibility studies, FEED, and detailed engineering.
  • Develop project plans, technical scopes, work breakdown structures, and deliverable schedules.
  • Support preparation of cost estimates, execution strategies, and technical proposals during bid and proposal phases.
  • Translate client requirements into clear engineering objectives and technical deliverables.
  • Participate in risk identification and mitigation planning for complex engineering projects.
  • Provide engineering oversight for projects up to ~$200M total installed cost (TIC).
  • Ensure engineering outputs meet quality standards and align with Sacr-Davey's Quality Management System.


3. Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as a key technical interface between clients, engineering teams, and project management.
  • Communicate project progress, technical risks, and deliverables clearly to stakeholders.
  • Support client engagement by ensuring technical solutions align with operational needs.
  • Prepare and deliver project updates, technical reports, and presentations.


4. Compliance and Standards

  • E nsure projects comply with applicable industry regulations, safety standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Maintain alignment with Sacr-Davey engineering processes and change management procedures.
  • Support project reviews, quality assurance activities, and stage-gate processes.
  • Where applicable, contribute technical input supporting NI 43-101 technical documentation and project studies, in collaboration with appropriate Qualified Persons.


5. Strategic Contributions

  • Support business development through proposal preparation and technical scope definition.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and capture lessons learned across projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering execution, project delivery methods, and client outcomes.
  • Assist in developing execution strategies for complex industrial and mining projects.


6. Mentorship

  • Mentor junior engineers and project team members in technical and project management skills.
  • Foster a collaborative, safety-focused, and innovative engineering culture.
  • Support cross-disciplinary knowledge sharing across project teams.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline).
  • 10+ years of experience delivering capital projects in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Experience delivering major capital projects up to ~$200M TIC.
  • Demonstrated experience across multiple project phases from concept to commissioning.
  • Experience delivering brownfield upgrade projects and plant modifications.
  • Strong project planning skills including cost estimating and schedule development (MS Project or similar tools).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Mining and heavy industry project experience is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with NI 43-101 technical studies and documentation processes considered an asset.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility preferred.
