The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a premier defense innovator to identify a driven, high-caliber technical expert to advance pioneering initiatives within their maritime intelligence division. In this role, you will collaborate with elite subject matter experts to tackle sophisticated national security challenges through cutting-edge research, development, and system prototyping. StaffRight Associates is managing this exclusive search to connect forward-thinking scientific leaders with an organization dedicated to pushing the boundaries of subsea defense technology.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect and advance sophisticated underwater acoustic systems from fundamental theoretical principles through physical prototyping and validation.

  • Drive the execution of next-generation naval architecture and maritime communication initiatives.

  • Champion cross-functional engineering collaborations to solve intricate hardware and software design friction points while meeting stringent defense benchmarks.

  • Synthesize and deploy comprehensive testing frameworks, directly managing the design and execution of critical maritime field experiments.

  • Maximize project success by steering multidisciplinary teams through the entire technology lifecycle, spanning concept formulation, budget tracking, resource allocation, and final deployment.

What You Bring

  • Advanced Academic Credentials: A Master''s Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, or an equivalent technical field.

  • Professional Depth: 5 to 10 years of validated experience spearheading complex technical initiatives and partnering with elite engineering staff to meet defense sector objectives.

  • Technical Domain Expertise: Essential working knowledge and hands-on experience involving Sensing, Communications, Engineering, Acoustic Communication Systems, Digital Circuits, Analog Circuits, and foundational Physics Principles.

  • Strategic Assets (Highly Desired): Direct exposure to Naval Experience, US Navy Undersea Warfare Leadership, Subsea Technology, Acoustics, Electronics Design, Sonar Signal Processing, Autonomous Systems, Custom PCBs, Embedded Software, Data Acquisition, and Wireless Applications.

  • Location Flexibility: Capability to work onsite full-time out of either the Groton, CT or Pawcatuck, CT facilities (No Remote options available; relocation assistance is provided nationwide).

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Annual Base Salary: $150,000 – $170,000 tailored to experience.
