Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Java Developer with extensive experience designing, building, and modernizing enterprise banking applications. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader responsible for architecting, developing, and delivering mission-critical applications supporting commercial banking, commercial lending, digital banking, payments, and customer servicing platforms.

This role requires strong expertise in Java-based application development, microservices architecture, cloud technologies, and modern software engineering practices. The successful candidate will lead development teams while actively contributing to the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing banking solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Architecture

•                    Lead the design and development of enterprise-scale banking applications using Java and Spring frameworks.

•                    Build applications from the ground up, including architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment.

•                    Design scalable, secure, and highly available systems supporting banking and lending operations.

•                    Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven solutions.

•                    Define application architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices.

•                    Modernize legacy banking applications into cloud-native environments.

Banking & Commercial Lending Solutions

Design and develop applications supporting:

•                    Commercial Loan Origination

•                    Loan Servicing

•                    Credit Underwriting

•                    Customer Onboarding

•                    Risk Management

•                    Treasury Management

•                    Digital Banking

•                    Payment Processing

•                    Customer Relationship Management

•                    Integrate applications with core banking platforms and third-party financial systems.

•                    Support end-to-end loan lifecycle management from application through servicing.

Technical Leadership

•                    Lead and mentor development teams.

•                    Conduct code reviews and architecture reviews.

•                    Drive engineering excellence and software development best practices.

•                    Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and QA teams.

•                    Provide technical guidance on system design, scalability, security, and performance optimization.

Cloud & DevOps

•                    Design and deploy banking applications in AWS or Azure.

•                    Build CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes.

•                    Support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

•                    Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

•                    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

•                    8+ years of Java development experience.

•                    3+ years of Lead Developer or Technical Lead experience.

•                    Proven experience building enterprise applications from concept through production.

•                    Strong experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.

•                    Experience within banking, financial services, or commercial lending environments.

•                    Deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
