Systems Administrator - Academic Computing
We're looking for a Systems Administrator with experience supporting academic computing environments. This role manages servers, instructional labs, virtual environments, and the software ecosystems that power teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage OS and server deployments, standardized images, upgrades, and security
- Support academic software across labs and cloud based instructional tools
- Administer Active Directory (OUs, groups, GPOs) to maintain security and application controls
- Use scripting (PowerShell preferred) to automate deployments and daily tasks
- Support virtualization platforms such as Proxmox including VM provisioning and host maintenance
- Assist with AWS AppStream and WorkSpaces for scalable remote access
- Research, test, and implement new technologies following change management practices
What We're Looking For
- Experience in systems administration within academic or enterprise environments
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Familiarity with AD, virtualization, automation, and cloud services
