Summary

The Chief Data/AI Engineer will oversee all enterprise data engineering and operations support, ensuring the delivery of four primary data functions across all applicable security enclaves. This person will prepare, maintain, and execute the Enterprise Data Engineering and Operations Plan (EDEOP), which governs all aspects of the WDP data lifecycle. This person will coordinate the activities of the data engineering, data operations, data tooling, and data governance teams to ensure a cohesive and effective data strategy. This person will establish data engineering standards and best practices, lead technical reviews of data solutions, and ensure integration of data components across the platform. This person will analyze data platform performance and recommend improvements, manage technical risks related to data engineering, and collaborate with program management to align data solutions with program objectives. This person will mentor junior data engineers, foster knowledge sharing across data disciplines, and stay current with emerging data technologies and methodologies. This person will develop strategic roadmaps for data platform evolution, establish metrics to measure data engineering effectiveness, and represent the data engineering function in cross-functional leadership forums.

Requirements

  • SECRET Security Clearance Required
  • Cloud+, GSEC, Security+, or SSCP certification (for Junior/Journeyman roles)
  • SecurityX/CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CCSP, CISSP (for Senior roles)
  • We are actively seeking multiple levels:
    • Junior: 0 - 3 years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
    • Journeyman: 4 - 7 years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
    • Senior: 8+ years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
  • Good communication skills, self-starter mindset.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.

Work Environment:
  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
