Top Requirements: - Former Controller or Accounting Manager with strong AR/Accounting operations background.
- Must understand accounting application workflows and how the accounting group uses the system (e.g., Wells Fargo-scale environments).
- Hands-on contributor, not just a people manager - someone who has done the work.
- Experience across the full implementation lifecycle: requirements gathering, design/development reviews, testing (SIT/UAT), and validation.
- Prior work in large enterprise environments highly preferred.
- Able to translate accounting needs into clear functional requirements for technology teams.
- Strong collaborator comfortable working with business, IT, and project stakeholders.
Summary
Our client is seeking a Corporate Accounting Engine Transformation Lead to support transformation initiatives for the Corporate Accounting Engine platform. The role focuses on documenting high quality accounting requirements and partnering with technology leads, Group controllers to re-build an efficient and scalable accounting engine system. The role leads various stakeholders through the planning, analysis, and implementation phases of each initiative.
In this role, you will:
- Lead deep dive work sessions with accounting domain partners and document high quality accounting requirements
- Build test strategies and plans. Write and execute test scripts.
- Communicate practices and procedures for proper financial control functions in accordance with the company's internal controls policies
- Provide work guidance or mentorship to peers or junior members of the team
- Apply extensive specialized knowledge and act as an internal consultant
- Provide strategic consultation to leadership
- Lead implementation of the most complex projects or initiatives impacting multiple lines of business or across the enterprise
- Identify compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and works with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Act as a liaison between IT and finance/accounting (Group controllers) functions and partner with technology leads across the General Ledger ecosystem to align accounting requirements to build an efficient and scalable accounting engine system
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with computer-based accounting systems
- Experience gathering accounting requirements used to build accounting systems
- Experience leading complex projects or initiatives impacting multiple lines of business or across the enterprise
- Strong written, analysis and oral communication skills, with ability to communicate with various levels within the organization
- Experience building large scale financial banking system implementations with hands on involvement in requirements gathering, testing, training, deployment
- Strong understanding of "generally accepted accounting principles"
- Good understanding of multi-currency enabled General ledger Eco systems
- Experience using big data/Cloud/query data tools.
- Ability to build business relationships with multiple stakeholder groups in accounting and technology
