Senior AWS Cloud Engineer

Job Description:
The Sr. Cloud Engineer is responsible for the design and management of the cloud-based systems on behalf of the organization.  The Engineer will organize and collaborate with teams to identify optimal solutions, modify systems, and ensure they meet needs of the organization.  The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based data solutions. The role will be responsible for optimizing data storage and ensuring data security and compliance. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and be proficient in programming languages like Python.  Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential for this role.
 
Key Functions/Responsibilities:

• Building data pipelines and scalable data processing systems in cloud environments.
• Developing, constructing, and testing large databases.
• Collaborating with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements.
• Implementing data solutions that meet business needs and technical requirements.
• Optimizing data workflows for performance and efficiency.
• Ensuring data security and compliance. Provide support and troubleshooting for data systems.
• Designing and implementing data pipelines using cloud-native tools and services.
• Developing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data ingestion and transformation.
• Writing and optimizing SQL queries for data retrieval and analysis.
• Building and maintaining data warehouses or data lakes.
• Integrating data from multiple sources for analysis and reporting.
• Implementing data governance and access controls.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams on data projects.
• Work with various leadership levels internally and across departments with respect to internal and external data
• Work closely with Finance and other departments to support reporting needs.
