IT - ADMIN - Security Architect - Consultant - Data Modeling Engineer

Location: Columbia, South Carolina (Remote)

Role Overview

An experienced Data Modeling Security Engineer is sought to support enterprise cybersecurity initiatives. The primary focus of this role is on Cribl data modeling, log pipeline design, and log ingestion architecture. This position involves partnering with security architects and engineering teams to design, implement, and optimize security data pipelines within a large-scale enterprise security environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain Cribl data models, log pipelines, and ingestion frameworks.
  • Support enterprise security platforms, including SIEM, XDR, Vulnerability Management, DLP, and endpoint security tools.
  • Assist with the design and deployment of Linux-based security sensors and monitoring solutions.
  • Collaborate with security architects to implement secure and scalable security solutions.
  • Support threat detection, incident response, log analysis, and security monitoring activities.
  • Develop automation, integrations, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to ongoing security engineering, compliance, and security modernization initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with Cribl data modeling and log pipeline design and implementation.
  • Experience supporting enterprise security technologies such as SIEM, XDR, Vulnerability Management, DLP, and endpoint security.
  • Experience with Python and Bash scripting for automation and integration.
  • Understanding of enterprise security architecture, security engineering principles, and defensive security strategies.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows administration, hardening, and security configuration.
  • Knowledge of networking, security protocols, and secure system design.
  • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years supporting large-scale IT environments and enterprise security systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive hands-on Cribl administration and data modeling experience.
  • SIEM administration, analytics, and reporting experience.
  • Experience deploying and supporting Linux-based security sensors.
  • Familiarity with NIST, CJIS, IRS 1075, or CMS MARS-E security frameworks.
  • CISSP, Security+, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.
