Job Description
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Consultant III (Accessibility Tester) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in functional and manual accessibility testing, test automation, and WCAG/ADA/Section 508 compliance and a proven ability to identify, document, and drive remediation of accessibility issues across web and mobile applications.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct accessibility testing for web and mobile applications using manual and automated tools.
- Review and interpret requirements based on WCAG, ADA, and Section 508.
- Document and report issues with clear remediation recommendations.
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and QA teams to embed accessibility throughout the lifecycle.
- Participate in audits and provide process improvement feedback.
- Create and maintain accessibility documentation and guidelines.
- Stay current with accessibility best practices, tools, and technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in accessibility testing for web and/or mobile applications.
- Familiarity with WCAG, ADA, and Section 508 standards.
- Knowledge of assistive technologies such as screen readers and magnifiers.
- Hands-on use of tools such as Axe, JAWS, NVDA, and WAVE.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear documentation practices.
- Effective written and verbal communication with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to perform functional/manual testing and contribute to test automation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Accessibility certifications such as IAAP CPACC or WAS.
- Experience conducting usability studies with people with disabilities.
- Knowledge of Android and iOS mobile accessibility guidelines.
- Experience training or mentoring teams on accessibility best practices.
- Understanding of inclusive design principles and Agile practices.
