About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced
Facilities Electrical Engineer to join our team in Wilton, CT. In this role, you will support semiconductor-based manufacturing projects, collaborating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing electrical systems for both new construction and retrofit projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead engineering and construction efforts for facility power distribution systems (up to 13.8kV), grounding, lighting, emergency/standby generation, life safety, and fire alarm systems.
- Prepare and review Basis of Design (BOD), Scope of Work (SOW), and construction/specification documents.
- Assess existing systems, consult with system owners, and analyze stakeholder requests.
- Review vendor submittals to ensure compliance with client requirements and specifications.
- Provide field support, coordinating with subcontractors and construction personnel.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in building electrical system design and distribution.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70, 70E, 72, 101, 110, building/energy codes, IEEE, and ASHRAE standards.
- Expertise in electrical equipment specification and selection.
- Experience with PLC, DCS, and other control applications.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Hands-on field experience in construction environments.
Preferred Qualifications- EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- 5+ years of experience as a facility engineer.
- Familiarity with Instrumentation & Controls deliverables (P&IDs, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, control narratives).
- Experience with UL508A control panel design.
- Proficiency in electrical modeling software (SKM PTW, ETap, EasyPower).
- Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and forward-thinking mindset.
- Passion for buildings, construction, and innovative engineering solutions.
Other Requirements- Onsite presence: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm (some flexibility available).
- Physical demands: Field visits and site walks at active construction sites.
- Authorization: Must be fully authorized to work in the U.S. (background check and drug screen required). Sponsorship is not available.
