Insurance AI Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our cross-functional team supporting the development, evaluation, and enhancement of AI models across insurance functions. The ideal candidate will combine deep industry knowledge with data-driven insights to ensure AI solutions are accurate, compliant, and aligned with business and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with AI, data science, and product teams to assess models used in underwriting, claims, risk assessment, and pricing.

• Identify gaps, biases, and limitations in current models and provide domain expertise to improve performance.

• Validate AI outputs to ensure alignment with real-world insurance practices, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

• Define performance metrics and success criteria to measure model effectiveness and business value.

• Support data labeling and annotation efforts by offering insurance-specific insights.

• Contribute to the development of explainable AI frameworks to enhance transparency and trust.

• Stay up to date with insurance regulations, compliance standards, and emerging AI trends in the industry.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Business, or a related field.

• 7+ years of experience in the insurance industry (underwriting, claims, risk modeling, or product management).

• Strong knowledge of insurance operations, policy structures, and regulatory requirements.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
