Role: Production Support Java
Location: Plano TX.
We are seeking a Tier-2 Production Support Engineer to support and maintain Java-based backend applications in a 24/7 production environment.
The role focuses on incident management, deep technical troubleshooting, and ensuring high availability and performance of backend services and integrations.
Key Responsibilities
Production Support Provide Tier-2 support for backend Java applications across production environments Own and resolve P1 / P2 / P3 incidents, including on-call support Perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures Coordinate with Tier-3/Engineering, Infrastructure, and Vendor teams Backend Application Support Troubleshoot Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot backend services Analyze logs, stack traces, thread dumps, heap dumps, and JVM metrics Support RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend batch processes Handle application performance issues, memory leaks, and scalability concerns Integrations & Messaging Support backend integrations with upstream/downstream systems
Troubleshoot REST/SOAP interfaces and messaging platforms (JMS, Kafka, MQ, RabbitMQ) Manage message failures, retries, reprocessing, and data mismatches Database & Data Layer Perform SQL analysis and controlled data fixes in production Monitor and tune JDBC connection pools Support databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server Investigate slow queries, deadlocks, and data consistency issues
Monitoring & Operations Monitor application health using Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or similar tools
Proactively identify issues through alerts and trend analysis Support deployments, releases, and rollback activities Infrastructure & Environment Support Provide backend support on Linux/Unix systems
