Compensation: $100,000 - $155,000 / year
DescriptionAs a
Propulsion Component Engineer, you will own all aspects of spacecraft solenoid valve design from concept to product realization, while working closely with a fast-paced, agile team that strives to make a high-performance spacecraft from a clean sheet design.
Responsibilities- Own all aspects of component design from concept to product realization
- Generate detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings
- Perform fluid, thermal, structural, and magnetic analysis as required
- Work with the team and external sources to procure materials, fabricate parts, and complete assemblies
- Provide technical support for test operations
- Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science
- 3+ years of experience in solenoid valve or electromagnetic component design
- Hands-on experience working with fluid and mechanical systems
- Proficiency in CAD software with ability to learn new tools
- Capable of performing structural, magnetic, and thermal analysis in support of design
- Demonstrated ability in requirements definition, conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly and testing of hardware
Preferred Skills and Experience- Experience designing and operating high reliability, high performance hardware
- Experience with on-orbit propulsion solenoid valves
- Experience in a startup or agile development environment
Additional Requirements- Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed
Additional Information:Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
