Overview
Wealth Engineering is seeking an experienced Snowflake expert to support the initial setup, integration, and long-term strategy of our Snowflake data environment. As we transition from traditional nightly flat file integrations to modern Snowflake data sharing with third-party vendors, this role will play a critical part in designing, implementing, and operationalizing Wealth's Snowflake platform.
This position will guide the build-out of Wealth's Snowflake instance-including data modeling, lineage, governance, and security-while designing scalable integration patterns aligned with our future data strategy.
Key Responsibilities Snowflake Platform Setup & Architecture -
Lead and execute the setup of Wealth's new Snowflake instance, including environment configuration, roles, governance structures, and security models.

Define, implement, and operationalize Snowflake data lineage, data governance, metadata management, and access controls.

Develop scalable data models, schemas, and database objects aligned with Wealth's enterprise standards.
Data Integration & Vendor Connectivity -
Support the Playback Letter initiative by retrieving and integrating data from a third-party vendor's Snowflake instance.

Design and implement Snowflake data sharing patterns, replacing nightly flat files with direct sharing-access integrations.

Collaborate with vendor engineering teams to ensure seamless setup, connectivity, and consumption of shared datasets.

Optimize ingestion, transformation, and storage patterns for performance and cost efficiency.
Strategic Advisory & Collaboration -
Participate in architectural discussions on how Snowflake fits into the long-term Wealth data strategy.

Partner with Wealth Engineering, Data Architecture, and Enterprise Data teams to ensure alignment on standards, governance, and best practices.

Provide expertise on Snowflake platform capabilities, including clustering, performance optimization, scaling, and cost management.

Recommend tools and processes to support observability, monitoring, lineage tracking, and governance.
Operational Support -
Document environments, processes, integration patterns, and governance frameworks.

Provide knowledge transfer, training, and guidance to internal engineering teams.

Troubleshoot issues related to Snowflake configuration, permissions, network connectivity, and data sharing.
Required Qualifications -
5+ years of experience working with Snowflake as a primary data platform.

Proven experience standing up new Snowflake environments, including architecture, governance, security, and data lineage capabilities.

Deep understanding of Snowflake data sharing, Snowflake Marketplace, and vendor data connectivity.

Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.

Experience with ETL/ELT tools, pipelines, and cloud data integration patterns.

Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) used in conjunction with Snowflake.

Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality tools.

Ability to articulate technical solutions and present recommendations to stakeholders.
