Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer Digital Asset Custody to serve as a technical authority for secure custody platforms supporting digital assets. This is a hands-on individual contributor role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining key management systems, custody architecture, and enterprise security controls. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cryptography, digital asset security, secure key management, and distributed systems. This role will partner closely with engineering, cybersecurity, risk, and leadership teams to build secure, resilient, and scalable custody solutions while driving best practices in security architecture, governance, and operational resilience. Key Responsibilities Design and implement institutional-grade key management systems, including Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), Multi-Party Computation (MPC), and secure key lifecycle management. Develop solutions for secure key generation, storage, rotation, signing, backup, and recovery. Define and evaluate custody architectures across hot, warm, and cold wallet models. Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, governance, and audit requirements. Collaborate with cybersecurity and risk teams to implement zero-trust and defense-in-depth security principles. Lead the design and development of custody policy frameworks governing transaction authorization, approvals, access controls, and operational safeguards. Implement role-based access controls, segregation of duties, transaction limits, exception handling, and policy enforcement mechanisms. Translate business, legal, compliance, and risk requirements into scalable technical controls and automated processes. Serve as a trusted advisor on custody governance, security architecture, and operational risk management. Develop and maintain disaster recovery strategies, including key recovery, quorum loss recovery, and blockchain-related failure scenarios. Create and maintain incident response plans, recovery procedures, and operational runbooks.
