Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities- Lead the design and execution of large-scale optimization and simulation models
- Architect analytical frameworks that address strategic business and engineering challenges
- Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies and industry partners
- Publish high-impact research and represent GE Research at conferences and technical forums
- Contribute to and lead proposal development for external funding and strategic initiatives
- Translate emerging research trends into actionable innovation opportunities
- Ensure technical rigor and scalability of deployed solutions
- Mentor junior researchers and guide technical development across multiple projects
Required Qualifications- PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field
- 5-10 years of experience in applied operations research or analytics
- Proven track record of leading complex research projects and delivering impactful results
- Proven track record of shaping and obtaining funding for OR research programs
- Expertise in mathematical programming, stochastic modeling, and simulation
- Proficiency in programming and modeling tools (e.g., Python, C++, MATLAB, Gurobi, CPLEX)
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
Desired Characteristics- Familiarity with AI/ML integration into optimization workflows
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to align research with business objectives
- Excellent communication skills for technical and executive audiences
- Experience collaborating with government research agencies or industrial R&D labs

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
