Summary

Description:
Hybrid 2-3 days in office/week in Chesterfield, MO

Our client seeks a junior to mid-level software developer to build and support scalable applications for enterprise financial and investment systems. The role focuses on Java and Python development, RESTful integrations, and agile delivery within a collaborative SaaS environment. You will contribute to clean, maintainable code, production support, and continuous improvement while working closely with experienced engineers and product partners.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $38.00 to $48.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Java- and Python-based applications supporting internal and external platforms.
Contribute to SaaS application support and enhancement, including bug fixes, performance improvements, and feature development.
Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint goals.
Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following engineering standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Assist with production support and troubleshooting for enterprise systems.
Engage in code reviews to improve code quality and knowledge sharing.
Continuously learn and apply new technologies, tools, and engineering best practices.

Experience Requirements:

2-5 years of professional software development experience.
Proficiency in Java and/or Python in a production environment.
Working knowledge of object-oriented programming, data structures, and basic algorithms.
Experience with REST APIs, application integrations, and backend development concepts.
Familiarity with source control tools such as Git.
Exposure to agile development methodologies and team-based delivery.
Strong problem-solving skills with a willingness to ask questions and learn.
Experience supporting or developing SaaS platforms (preferred).
Familiarity with financial systems, data-driven applications, or regulated environments (preferred).
Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (preferred).
Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing (preferred).
Experience working in a globally distributed or cross-functional team (preferred).

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
