Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role will work in the CCG Controls Software team and will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of control software to support residential and commercial HVAC products that meet or exceed best-in-class performance and reliability targets across multiple platforms and product families, as well as manufacturing support for existing products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Provide measurable contribution to Controls' new product development projects and sustaining initiatives.
  • Manage individual projects throughout the complete product development cycle.

Lead projects of moderate complexity that may be derived largely from existing products.
  • Lead control software qualification and agency compliance test programs.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies and test agencies.
  • Interface with vendors, customers, and field personnel.
  • Support manufacturing, sales & marketing, quality, and supply chain functions.
  • Document control designs by preparing bills of material, drawings, and product change notifications.
  • Design, optimize, and qualify software employing advanced analytical methods and experimental techniques.
  • Ensure design quality, supporting your calculations and design proposals.

Develop moderately complex designs that may be derived largely from existing products.

Source and analyze appropriate components to meet control board design needs.

Provide review comments on moderately complex electrical design aspects.

Evaluate new options of similar technology.
  • Conduct presentations for technical and business personnel.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education:Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering or Computer Science required. Preferred emphasis in electronic controls system design/theory.

Experience: 5 years of engineering experience preferred.

Computer Skills:

  • Familiar with Integrated Development Environments (MP Lab, STM32CubeIDE, etc.)

Familiar with Programming languages (C, C++, assembly, Python, and Visual Basic)

Familiar with Version Control systems (Git, Vault, Apache, etc.)

Familiar with Microsoft Office suite products.

Certificates & Licenses: None required.

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of control system design and applications, control theory, and PID design and tuning.
  • Knowledge of the sequence of operations, software specifications, and electrical wiring methods.
  • Knowledge of system controls, sequence of operations, and electrical wiring methods.
  • Hands-on skills and experience in working with laboratory equipment, test stands, and instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with the New Product Development (NPD) process, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods used in the HVAC&R field; industrial experience is a plus but not required.
