What You'll Do

We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Workplace Personal Investing team. As we embark on building an innovative greenfield platform, we are seeking an experienced Technical solutions leader (individual contributor) to design, develop, and maintain software solutions that support wealth management platforms and client-facing applications specifically in the investing product space.

You'll Have the Opportunity To:

  • Mentor engineers through regular feedback, coaching, and pairing.
  • Guide technical direction, architecture, and long-term design decisions.
  • Own outcomes and lead day-to-day prioritization and tradeoff decisions.
  • Partner with Product, business stakeholders, and adjacent engineering teams to ensure engineering solutions align with strategic & enterprise goals.
  • Contribute to coding, design reviews, and troubleshooting when needed.
  • Champion modern engineering practices, automation, quality standards, and scalable architectural patterns
  • Manage planning processes including technical road mapping, capacity planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Foster a high-performing engineering culture focused on quality and innovation.
  • Create psychological safety and promote strong team cohesion.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone with:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree (preference in computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field) or equivalent experience and 6+ years of relevant IT experience.
  • 3+ years of AWS experience is required.
  • 5+ years of front end or backend development experience is required.
  • Experience leading teams or acting as a tech lead/domain lead, including guiding engineers and influencing outcomes.
  • Strong technical judgment and ability to guide technical decisions.
  • Comfort owning decisions and partnering effectively with Product, stakeholders, and peer engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability, curiosity, and a willingness to learn from experience.
  • A growth mindset and openness to coaching and feedback.

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out:

  • Proven ability to build strong engineering culture and influence team norms.
  • Experience designing and integrating systems using AWS serverless services (e.g., Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS)
  • Hands-on development experience with TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks such as React or Next.js
  • Strong grasp of API design, system integration patterns, and secure, scalable architecture
  • Familiarity with modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and version control.
  • Background in financial or retirement services, wealth platforms, or regulatory-driven workflows
  • Effective stakeholder management with the ability to drive alignment and lead complex, multi-team initiatives.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek). You'll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
