If you haven't worked inside hubs, headends, or central offices, this role isn't for you.
We're looking for experienced Inside Plant Technicians who know what it means to work in live service provider environments-where uptime matters and migrations can't afford mistakes. You'll be supporting core network and data center upgrades across the New York Metro region, working with transport and optical equipment in headends, hubs, and CO facilities.
This isn't entry-level work. You need to know your way around a headend, understand service continuity during migrations, and be comfortable with the equipment and processes that keep carrier-grade networks running.
What You'll Be Doing
Rack and stack telecom and optical network gear in headends, hubs, and data centers. Install and migrate core network devices as part of next-gen optical platform rollouts. Test fiber-optical power measurements, path verification, the works. Install and terminate DC power. Load prebuilt configs into network devices. Move from site to site across NYC and NJ as projects wrap.
What You Need to Have
Proven experience working inside headend, hub, or central office environments-this is non-negotiable. Strong rack-and-stack skills for telecom, routing, switching, and optical platforms. Fiber optic installation, dressing, and testing experience. Hands-on work with DC power feeds. Familiarity with Ciena, Adtran, Lucent, Cisco, or Juniper gear. Understanding of optical transport systems and service provider core networks.
Why This Role
You'll get hands-on exposure to advanced platforms like the Ciena 6500. Mileage is reimbursed, and depending on the assignment, a company vehicle may be provided. This is long-term contract-to-hire work tied to high-visibility core network projects-real infrastructure, real impact.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
